When was the last time you had a proper cream tea? Warm, buttery scones, succulent jam, and thick, thick clotted cream? And then cakes? And savouries? All washed down with a cup or two of Earl Grey (or maybe Darjeeling)?

Well, now that may no longer be merely a dream! Inspired by the secret supper club movement that is becoming popular across the country, I would like to introduce you to High Time for Tea, a regular tea party at my home. The idea is, you book in advance, and accept that you will be sharing a table in my listed stone house in a picturesque Lincolnshire village (between Lincoln and Grantham) for high tea. Yes, you will be sitting at a table with people you may not know, and no, it is not a commercial restaurant (the china is vintage and mis-matched), but you can be guaranteed that everything served will be 'free of gluten-containing ingredients'. Places are only restricted by the size of my table; anyone is welcome, coeliac or otherwise - bring your partner, your daughter, your Granddad!
